It seals most micro pores thus creating an extra smooth surface with excellent friction properties.
The PTFE layer remains in place even after the grease is no longer visible, forming a long lasting dry lubrication.
The protective film also acts as long-term preservation against humidity, (salt) water, and hand perspiration, preventing rust, oxidation and seizing.
