HISTORY:
Three weeks before the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Stirling Moss suggests to John Wyer to enter the DBR1 at the 1000 km of the NA?rburing by personally personally the costs of this unexpected trip.
The offer is even bolder because they must use the first chassis manufactured in 1956 to avoid the car being prepared for Le Mans.
The race was fierce between Porsche, provisional leader supported by the German public and Ferrari returned to make after the defeat of the Targa Florio.
But it is successful despite the setbacks of Fairman who forces Moss to use all his talents. In 7:33 hours, after 44 laps the British driver won his 3rd consecutive victory at the NA?rburgring and the first for Aston. It bodes well for the mancelle event that will see the consecration of Aston more than 30 years after its first participation.
