Juan Manuel Fangio was an Argentine driver who dominated the car racing era of the 1950's. His talent is such as he won 5 World Champion titles with 4 different teams. In 1955, he takes a break in his Formula 1 season to participate in Le Mans 24 Hours at the wheel of Mercedes-Benz 300SLR. Just running behind Pierre Levegh's car that is at the origin of the terrible accident which killed 80 people, he narrowly escapes the drama.

Le Mans Miniatures represent him in one of his favorite positions which can be seen on numerous original pictures, that is, hands on hips and holding his helmet. Notice the detail the watch on his left wrist.
