TUESDAY NIGHT RACING	2008 SCHOOL HOLIDAY EVENTS
Every 2nd Tuesday Racing will commence at 7.00pm sharp. You must register prior to 6.45pm as names will be entered into the computer at this time. Unfortunately names cannot be added once the data entry is complete. The centre will remain open from 5.00pm for practice racing and any shop sales that you may require. NEXT RACE DATES TUESDAY 8 JULY 2008 (NASCAR series) Host classs - see full details below TUESDAY 22 JULY 2008 (GROUP 1) * 1:24 Carrera (magnet class) central two outboard magnets removed * Scalextric Japanese Touring Cars (magnet class) - time permitting Standard as manufactured with the exception of truing the original tyres. The original tyre brand ie 'DUNLOP' 'BRIDGSTONE' must be visable for the car to qualify. TUESDAY 5 AUGUST 2008 (NASCAR series) Host classs - see full details below TUESDAY 19 AUGUST 2008 (GROUP 2) * Slot.it LeMans and any other brand endurance car representing post 1980 LeMans, LMP, GT1, GT2 etc. Non magnet class. - no open wheelers - cars are to be standard as manufactured excluding tyres - any Slot.it tyre may be used, however, the Slot.it brand logo must be visable * Scalextric USA Muscle (Mustangs, Camaros, Corvettes). Magnet class. This group will only be run time permitting. Standard as manufactured with the exception of truing the original tyres. The original tyre brand ie 'DUNLOP' 'BRIDGSTONE' must be visable for the car to qualify. All cars will be tested from time to time to see if they conform to their original configuration. Cost $10.00 per racer, which includes pizza and soft drink. 2 classes (excluding NASCAR series) will be run on the night. The number of classes run depends on the number of racers for the evening. Slot.it LeMans and any other brand endurance car representing post 1988 LeMans, LMP, GT1, GT2 etc. (non magnet class) - no open wheelers - cars are to be standard as manufactured excluding tyres - any Slot.it tyre may be used 2 . Scalextric USA Muscle (Mustangs, Camaros, Corvettes) (magnet class) NASCAR host series Round 1: July 8; Round 2: August 5; Round 3: September 2; Round 4: September 30; Round 5: October 28; Final: November 25 Entrance fee for series $20.00 plus cost for night either $5.00 without dinner or $10.00 with dinner. This host series is for experienced racers only. Rules for Host class: Host cars may not be touched or moved other than by the designated pit crew. Braid will be cleaned before each race. Tyres will be cleaned by designated pit crew in pit crew area between heats. Any breach of the above will attract a 2 lap (approx 12 sec) penalty. Point system: One point will be allocated for each race commenced in this series. All points are accumulative. The best 5 races will count towards your final points tally. Points earned for position winners at each race: 1st 21 points; 2nd 19 points; 3rd 18 points; 4th 17 points; 5th 16 points; 6th 15 points; 7th 14 points; 8th 13 points; 9th 12 points; 10th 11 points; 11th 10 points; 12th 9 points; 13th 8 points; 14th 7 points; 15th 6 points; 16th 5 points; 17th 4 points; 18th 3 points; 19th 2 points; 20th 1 point; 21st 1 point; 22nd 1 point Our next scheduled school holiday event As many of our staff are taking leave during the July school holidays the next events will be held in October. Apologies for any inconvenience. Junior Race Event Date: scheduled for upcoming school holidays Cost: $10 per racer - afternoon tea will be served. Bookings essential as there are limited places. Please note this event is not intended for those new to slot car racing. Rules: - Age group 8 - 17 years - Any standard Scalextric car may be used - no modifications allowed except any tyre may be used. - You may bring 2 cars and if the first car cannot finish the race the second car may be subsituted. - Please note cars must be presented at least 15 minutes prior to the race start for scrutinising. Maintenance workshop Date: Scheduled for upcoming School holidays 9.30am - 11.30am This workshop is ideal for those who would like to learn how to correctly maintain your slot car. This event is suitable for both those new to the hobby and those wanting to get a little more out of their slot car. Casual racing will be held at the end of the workshop. All future race events will require a non modified Scalextric car. This workshop is aimed at children aged 9 years and up. Adults are also welcome to come to this event. Participants must bring their own car/s along with screwdrivers, pliers and oil - the tools can be loaned on the day if you do not yet have these in your kit. Cost $10.00 - Bookings essential. Morning tea is included. Full payment must be received in advance to confirm your place. Father/Son (or any other adult/child combination) Race Date: TBA Cost: $20 per couple - a light dinner will be served Bookings essential as there are limited places Please note this race is not intended for those new to slot car racing.
